New Orleans Saints History

They also added a franchise quarterback Drew Brees and the Saints saw an immediate turn around. With the addition of weapons like Marques Colston and Reggie Bush, this team went on to win its division in 2009. They would later win their first Super Bowl, downing the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.

New Orleans has been building up their sports reputation thanks to the recent successes of both of their professional sports teams. The Saints are just one of these teams and the other is the New Orleans Hornets. They are the second professional basketball team attached to the NBA to be located in this city as the first was the Jazz. The Hornets were moved to this city in 2002 and were originally based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
While there are only two professional teams in New Orleans, collegiate sports are also very big in this city. Tulane University is one of the premier baseball schools in the country as they have been producing ball players for years out of this program. Tulane also boasts a decent football program as Matt Forte was recently drafted by the Chicago Bears and is their starting running back. There are also minor league baseball clubs located in this city called the Zephyrs as well as a soccer club called the Jesters.
