After this early successful period, the Vikings cooled off for a decade or two before find resurgence around the turn of the millennium. Adding Hall of Fame defensive tackle Jon Randle and future Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss, this team began back down the path of winning. In 2007, the team added Adrian Peterson, who would become the league's best running back. In 2009, this team was only a few plays away from winning the NFC championship.
