In 1993, the NBA decided to expand the league with two Canadian teams, one of them being the Raptors. The other team was the Vancouver Grizzlies, a team that would fail to capture local interest and which would eventually move to Tennessee. The Raptors are actually the second basketball team to call Toronto home, as the Huskies played out of this city for two years in the mid 1940s.
