St. Louis Rams History

Following the Rams though their history also entails a game of musical chairs as the team has changed locations several times. They were actually started as a cross town rival of the Cleveland Browns. The Browns seemed to draw bigger crowds because of having a better team and this team was moved, oddly enough, the same year they won their first NFL championship in 1945.

Their first move saw this team go to Los Angeles, where they remained a strong contender in their division. They would win their second championship in 1951 but prove to fall on hard years until the emergence of Deacon Jones. Deacon Jones was a Ram for most of his career and invented the term sack for tackling a quarterback who is trying to pass.

They were a strong team while being based in Los Angeles, but the team would eventually move again. The move to St. Louis would prove to be a wise one as the team would finally break through and win its first Super Bowl behind the electrifying running of Marshall Faulk. They would get back to the Super Bowl the following year in 2002, the team would lose on a last second field goal to a New England Patriot's team that would prove to be dynasty for years to come.

The Blues are the youngest of the sports teams in town as they were only founded in 1967.
