The Boston Celtics have one of the most illustrious histories in all of sports, let alone the NBA and it can all be tied to the signing of just two players, Bill Russell and Tommy Heinsohn. The two had an immediate impact, as they were signed in 1957 and the Celtics won their first title in that year. The dynasty would make the Boston Celtics one of the most respected in all of sports, as they won 8 years in a row starting in 1959, including beating the Lakers five times. The Celtics would add seven more titles for the next twenty years, until 1986, when it seemed like the Celtics had fallen from grace and were no longer the powerhouse they once were. However, the team rebuilt by signing big names like Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. They play their home games at the TD Garden.
